About me

Montserrat Rigall during a live broadcast
Technology with a human purpose

Montserrat Rigall brings together journalistic craft and audiovisual experience with applied research in artificial intelligence and verification. She explains complex topics to professional audiences without losing rigour or warmth.

She is a journalist specialising in AI, a university lecturer, a speaker and a master of ceremonies. In 2024 she was named Best Catalan Science Communicator.

At RTVE she has been head of programmes at Ràdio 4 (RNE), head of Communications in Catalunya and head of Innovation projects. She directed a cultural programme on La 2 and a documentary. She is a member of Vera.AI (European Commission) and of RTVE's IVERES verification project.

She is completing a doctorate on AI and fake-news verification. She holds a degree in Information Sciences from the UAB. She has a master's in Humanities and 21st-Century Society (University of Barcelona) and a postgraduate diploma in TV reporting (Pompeu Fabra). She completed an academic stay at the University of Birmingham.
